Depending on rates and availability, free shipping within the continental US may be through USPS or UPS.

Service in Canada

Customers in Canada will be responsible for all duties and taxes.
UPS may charge expensive brokerage fees on packages crossing the border. UPS is not recommended for service to Canada.

Tempest ships from our UK warehouse. VAT and shipping are calculated at checkout.

Shipping availability in other countries

At this time, the Tempest System is only sold and shipped within the US, Canada, and the UK. Tempest does not currently ship to other countries, including AU/NZ.

Why do I want a weather station at my house?

Most weather apps and weather reports from your evening news are based on public domain data — primarily from weather stations installed long ago at regional airports. Having a reliable weather station at your home gives you the benefit of knowing the exact conditions outside, (not at the nearest airport). Tempest also provides hyper-local forecast info, customized to your location and can even help you save money on heating & air conditioning by allowing your smart home tech to make automated decisions based on real-time weather data. How is Tempest's forecast better than others?

Improvements are made to the local forecast as the machine learning (AI) ingests observations from your weather station and other observations in your area. We pay a great deal of attention to the quality of the observations coming from your Tempest and our Continuous Learning AI seeks to improve the quality of your unique observations. You will notice advantages in accuracy over other forecasts starting about ~60 days from the time of installation. You may notice additional improvements going forward as we learn more about your local weather.

How do I view my Tempest Data?

Once your system is set up, you can view data and forecasts in the Tempest Weather App, or from any browser at tempestwx.com. Log in to the website using the same credentials you used to create your Tempest account or view the station data as a guest user. Tempest does not come with a dedicated display, but there are many other options to view your data. LEARN MORE

Do I need WiFi to use the Tempest Station?

It is highly recommended to connect the Hub to a WiFi network. Doing so will enable continuous uploading of weather data and allow anytime data access from anywhere.

Device shipped switched on

My sensor was shipped with the switch on so it had no charge and had to wait roughly 24hrs to see if it was still functional. Seems like QA should be better for something so basic as a newly shipped unit. Hopefully the battery will hold a sufficient charge going forward after being fully drained.

Great weather station for rural home/property

I've been running the Tempest home weather station for a couple of months and I'm real pleased with the sustem. Wireless signal strength from the gateway to the station is impressive. Setup was easy. All the measurements including rainfall #'s appear to be quite accurate and reliable. The only slight issue I had with mine at first was the Solar/UV readings were extremely high. That was something that corrected itself a couple of days after installation. The integration with Weather Underground app was easy and I'm glad that is an option since WU is the app I prefer using for weather tracking. It's sooo nice to have my own property weather data on the WU app now. Before getting the Tempest system I would frequently notice the WU weather data and rainfall totals did not jive with what I was seeing at my rural location vs the town weather observations. One other thing to note especially if you plan on using Tempest in a rural setting. You should go into the settings and turn off the NearCast Rain setting to improve the accuracy of the rain accumulation data on your Tempest station. The best weather station you can get

This is my second Tempest weather station. They just work. Easy to install and configure. If you have issues, support is very good and quickly responds.

Replacement for my first gen unit.

Compared to my early unit, the design is sleeker and the hub to station range is much better. Setup was easy, and inclusion of RSSI values in the status allowed me to position the units for best signal.
