Weather sensors:
I've had two, Acurite and Sainlogic.
The first one Acurite does NOT work as intended in Mexico where I live 9 months of the year…
It does function “most of the time,” but does NOT always communicate between the unit, the display, AND the phone app…🤔
The second one Sainlogic does set up in Mexico and communicates with the display, but NOT the phone app at all…😡
The above devices are not inexpensive and mostly junk…
The Tempest is the exception…
The tempest arrived 3 weeks ago…
The setup at my home in America was easy…
It functions perfectly…
It doesn't come with a desktop or countertop display, but one isn't needed anyway...
The phone app works perfectly, with all the details needed to see the weather with predictions of future weather…
It has a lightning function which I had to pay extra for with Accurite…
I think I will gamble that unit will work equally well in Mexico and I will buy another unit to try there…
Why?
Because I am an ex-pilot and now a sailor…
My whole life I flew in, around, under, and over weather, now I float on the oceans of the world…I find weather fascinating…🤷♂️

Easy setup and works as advertised. Nice to be able to see the other tempest systems nearby to compare weather data for my area.

Thank you for the half-priced replacement unit, as the previous had multiple hardware failures. The new one was easy to set up and is already recording data. Great system and great support. Thank you!!

I have had a tempest in place since 2022, they are amazing and easy to integrate into IFTTT to control other devices. Their support team is also amazing
