The Universal Mount is an excellent option for installing the Tempest device on a variety of structures and vertical surfaces.
Two mast configurations are possible. Attaching the short end of the pole in the bracket will maximize installation height while attaching the long end in the bracket instead will provide greater distance from the mounting surface.
Please note: Bracket mounting straps are not included.
Tempest sold separately. More info can be found here.

How do I install the Tempest Universal Mount for my Tempest Weather Station?
You'll first need to choose a vertical surface or structure that will allow you to mount the Tempest Weather Station above surrounding structures. Next, you will assemble the mast with either the short end in the bracket or the long end in the bracket. Once you choose a mounting style, you will then secure the bracket to the surface with the appropriate hardware, attach the mast into the bracket, and finally place the Tempest weather station onto the mast.
Is the Tempest Universal Mount made out of weather-resistant materials?
Yes, the universal mount from Tempest is constructed with weather-resistant materials. The mast and bracket are powder-coated aluminum for harsh weather conditions, and the mounting hardware is made of stainless steel, which is resistant to rust and corrosion.
What are the different mounting options for the Tempest Universal Mount?
You can either mount your Tempest with the short end in the Tempest Universal Mount bracket, which maximizes height and provides clearance on the side of a house above a roofline or use the long end in the bracket to provide greater distance from the mounting surface.
I love this thing. We’re in Austin and the weather can be very different from one area to the next. This weather station was realtively easy to install (mine required working at a height to make sure it wasn’t blocked by anything), and the app was really easy to set up. We have Rachio irrigation so it helps control that as well. It’s great to have the weather for our house and the forecasts as well. The interesting thing about the Tempest model, as I understand, is that they use the weather data from all these stations to help meteorologists build more accurate predictive models to improve forecast accuracy. Nonetheless, I this is a great device.
Second one I have installed, simple easy to install. Got my station clear of facia along roof line.
It would have been nice to include hose clamps for pole mounting. It's a "universal" mount after all. It worked well after stopping by the hardware store
It took me four years to purchase the “weather arm” for my Tempest. We have a “summer home” in the Little Belt Mountains of Montana. The Tempest works wonderfully, but having it mounted on the top rail of the deck was fraught with trepidation. I just knew some cowboy would bump it off. And he did.
Now, with the Tempest 15 feet from the house and 10 feet up, it will take a tall cowboy on a very tall horse to bump it off again.
Oh, the quality of the “weather arm” is extraordinary.
Mounted the Tempest Weather Station on my screen cage here in Florida, and it’s just perfect. Installation was a breeze—no wires, no moving parts—and it connected to the app instantly. It handles Florida’s heat, humidity, and storms with ease, delivering accurate readings for wind, rain, UV, and lightning. The screen cage location provides great exposure while keeping it discreet and protected. Couldn’t ask for a better setup. Works flawlessly!
