It's pretty good

I like it. It is a nice compact unit with no visible moving parts. The wind sensor could probably be more accurate. We had like 50 mph gusts and the highest registered was 11.4 mph. The lightning strike sensor is cool, it is amazing how many strikes can be in a short time. I dunno about the accuracy of the rain gauge, it might be accurate, or close enough. It reports if it is raining or not, so that's pretty much all I care about.

I like that the app has a history feature. The app is pretty good but there is no written weather forecast. It will tell if rain or snow is coming but no predicted amount. I tried to connect it with wunderground but did not have luck. I guess I don't care about that so much.

It is cool enough. I can't believe how many stations are around me on the website map.

So Far, So Good

I recently purchased the Tempest Weather Station to better understand and monitor the unique microclimate in Firestone, CO. Living near Longs Peak, I’ve noticed that weather predictions from apps often miss the mark, particularly when it comes to rain. This station seemed like the ideal solution for getting real-time, localized data.

After installing the Tempest Weather Station, I immediately observed a noticeable difference in reported data compared to Apple's weather app. For instance, while the Tempest Weather Station recorded 19ºF, the Apple weather app showed 18ºF. These differences might seem minor, but in a microclimate like Firestone's, accuracy matters greatly.

So far, the Tempest Weather Station has been straightforward to set up and provides a wealth of information, including wind speeds, barometric pressure, and UV index—details that go beyond what typical apps offer. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, which makes checking the weather a seamless experience.

I appreciate the hyper-local data it provides and am looking forward to monitoring it over time to see how it aligns with actual conditions. While the temperature discrepancy is small, I’m curious to observe if these variances persist and if the station becomes even more reliable as it learns from my location.

In short, the Tempest Weather Station is proving to be a valuable tool for someone like me, who lives in a region where weather can change rapidly and unpredictably. It’s an excellent investment for anyone who wants more control and insight into their local weather.

The purchase

The purchase of Tempest was easy. I had difficulty find the tracking information, however, it did arrive on the date quoted during purchase. It was a gift the recieving party is pretty impressed with the technology so far. The directions for setup were quick to download and the app is intuitive. We will see how it perfoms now.

Very nice weather station, easy to setup

I received my Tempest a few days ago and surprising easy to setup. Not really many instructions or detailed manual, but easy to setup. I had it up and running within 15 minutes, and I installed it on mast in my backyard.
PROS: Easy setup, nice IOS App and weather page with lots of information.
No moving parts and little to no maintenance.
Small, light and compact and can be mounted easily.
Easly integrates with Rachio Irrigation panel.
CONS: Pricey, realistically should be around $200-250. No display panel, support was ok, but not very computer savvy.
Not very user friendly to publish on personal website but was able to figure it out myself www.weathermike.com.
Accuracy is pretty close, but Haptic Rainfall Sensor and Ultrasonic wind sensor aren't very accurate.
Limited instructions/manual.
So far works well with no issues and like the App and online display. If it came with a display would give 5-star rating.
