I opened the box and was unsure. It looked like a gimmick. It took a little to get connected, but once it did I had too move it close for instant information. It is a pretty cool addition.
The Lightmap Display brings a new dimension to showing weather data from the Tempest. After seeing data displayed on phone and computer screens it is a relief to see the readings without reader glasses. More than what I was expecting.
Nice layout but lacks more precise readings, especially the barometer. Hence the four star rating.
The Tempest app on a tablet or using a cellphone is a better choice for me. Light map is good for a quick reference. It is definitely a conversation piece, and performs well.
The display is ok but having to refer to the manual to see the color codes is kind of silly...almost retro really. The info does seem accurate however not my best purchase.
The Light Map Weather Display is everything claimed. We really like it! I do wish I could make it dimmer at night. It dims, but just not enough for us.
